Complete apartment renovation in Utrecht

Design and Planning

We worked closely with the client to develop a fully customized design. The goal was to combine a modern aesthetic with practical functionality. By merging the kitchen and living room, we created an open living area that perfectly suits contemporary lifestyles. The color palette and high-quality materials were carefully selected to create a harmonious look.

Bathroom and Toilet Renovation

The bathroom and toilet were completely refurbished:

• Demolition: We carefully removed the old tiles, sanitary fixtures, and fittings.
• New Installations: The toilet was replaced with a modern wall-mounted model featuring a Geberit system and an integrated macerator. For added convenience, we installed a new vanity unit, faucet, and illuminated mirror.
• Walk-In Shower: A sleek walk-in shower with a sliding glass door and matte black details was installed, along with a stylish towel radiator.
• Tiling: Large floor and wall tiles (34 m²) gave the bathroom and toilet a fresh, modern appearance.
• Ceiling and Paintwork: The ceiling was finished with plaster and painted with moisture-resistant paint (6 m²).

Additionally, plumbing was adjusted to accommodate a washing machine in the bathroom, including a dual socket for added functionality.

Kitchen Renovation

The old kitchen was entirely removed and replaced with a modern IKEA Metod kitchen tailored to the client’s preferences. The work included:

• Plumbing and Electricity: Adjusting the plumbing and installing a Perilex outlet for an induction stove. Six new outlets were added for kitchen appliances to ensure the kitchen is equipped for modern needs.
• Tiling and Finishing: The walls and floors were prepared perfectly for the new kitchen installation.

Ceilings, Walls, and Floors

• Plastering and Painting: All walls and ceilings in the apartment were fully plastered and painted, resulting in a smooth and fresh appearance.
• Herringbone PVC Flooring: High-quality herringbone PVC flooring was installed throughout the apartment, adding a modern and elegant touch. Matching baseboards were installed to complete the look.
• Updated Floor Plan: To create an open and bright living space, we removed the wall between the kitchen and living room. The old door to the kitchen was closed off and seamlessly finished.

Electrical Upgrades

The entire electrical system in the apartment was upgraded:

• Distribution Board Replacement: We installed a completely new and modernized distribution board.
• New Outlets: A total of 38 outlets were added, including waterproof outlets in the bathroom and new light switches in all areas.

General Renovations

• Heating and Water: We replaced three radiators and installed a new electric boiler for efficient heating and hot water supply.
• Concealed Pipes: Water and gas pipes were fully concealed for a clean and modern look.

Result

The result is a sleek and modern apartment that is both practical and visually stunning. The open kitchen and bright spaces give the apartment a sense of space and comfort. The herringbone flooring, high-quality finishes, and modern amenities make this apartment a durable and stylish home for years to come.
